Point or order.. good idea to feather edge the sand scratches around the outside before applying filler, just in case you go a little too far a fluck up your filler work..

@ladedk yeah but just so everyone knows a paper dust mask like that does not protect you against the paint fumes while painting you need to wear a respirator with an organic vapor filter and the masks these guys are wearing only keep dust out

as faR as primer , use a primer filler then use black primer very lightly as a guide coat to find hard to see scratches, sand that with 500or 600g 500 is better,

    • llaracuente 9:10 am on January 19, 2011 Permalink

sand body filler with 40 grit once straight, sand with 80 to make it smooth, hit it up with polyester putty sand with 100g smooth it with 180, also feather edge old paint and primer with 180g

    • WranglerYJ91 10:01 am on January 19, 2011 Permalink

Pretty good except i learned from exp. to work the grinded edge with 80 grit and let your putty run over edge to fill in deep grinding marks. Always come behind 80 grit with 180 grit before you prime. If not the primer will shrink and sand scratches will show in matter of days. especcially laquer primer. best to let primer dry 24 hrs. before sanding to help avoid shrinkage. Not saying im a know it all just cant sleep seeing how others do mudd work lol

Rust Problem in Domestic and Industrial Sector

When you brought home the metal furniture and antiques you felt proud. Shine, glaze and luster of metals looked good. You thought all the products would stay as they were for long. But the story did not go smooth. Despite the protective coating of rust-proof materials, rust formed and damaged metal goods.

The same thing can happen in industrial sector as well. In factories, furnaces, manufacturing units, packaging plants, print and publishing companies and in all other production plants most machines, equipments and tools are made of iron.

Naturally it becomes a must for the companies to take up some protective measures to protect the metal equipments from rust. A number of mechanical equipments, machineries, tools and accessories are sent for maintenance in industries; this not only increases operating cost, but increases down time, waste and unwanted delays.

Moreover, as rusting iron is weak and fragile, rusted machineries pose risks of accidents and mishaps. People associated may get injured severely while handling a faulty machine.

It really feels very bad when the things of daily use begin to rust. Gardening tools, hanger, window siding, furniture, swing in garden, hammers, pliers, nut-bolts, and all metal items are susceptible to rust attacks.

Rust-proofing – Keep metals from rusting:

What inhibits rust formation? Is there anything that stops rust? Scientists and researchers have been trying to find a solution to this question from years.

Do you know that rusting is nothing but a chemical reaction? Iron is oxidized in presence of water to form rust. If we can use a substance that stops or slows down oxidation of rust, we would be able to prevent rusting. Oxidation of iron is a very natural process and it starts when and where iron, oxygen and moisture are present side by side. It seems almost impossible to avoid the process. But, if proper preventive measures are taken, rusting can be stopped.

The process of rusting is accelerated in presence of saline water or impure water. Just imagine, when your iron-made machineries, tools, heavy weight equipments are shipped for installation in other countries they are exposed to marine weather which is ideal for rust formation. Hence, rust treatment is compulsory while shipping metal equipments; rust attack is guaranteed. Saline sea water would definitely initiate rust formation which would take bigger shape in the long run.

    Possible Remedies:

Since you cannot stop salty air it is good to insulate the metal body. The materials used for insulation provides protection from moisture. Solvent based paints, oil based coats and paints, thin film of grease, lamination, film of packaging materials are often applied all over the bare metal for rust-protection. These materials inhibit moisture and salty air to come in contact with iron and hence, rust formation is stopped.

It is also good to spray rust remover solution all over the metal surface before applying rustproofing materials. If traces of rust are left inside, it may become real problem in the long run. If somehow moisture gets locked on the metal surface below the protective coating, rust starts spreading below the layer silently. When it takes bigger shape, it cracks the layer and exposes the main metal. So always spray rust removers before rustproofing your metal tools; stay protected.

    Rust Paint at Rust Bullets

RUST has been called the cancer of metal! Since the beginning of time we have been struggling with this, and every day new solutions and products march into the market claiming to solve our rust problems. Not all these products are effective nor do they offer a long term solution? Most of the Rust Paint products offer short term relief and do not take care of the problem completely.

Rust is an iron oxide that is formed when metal objects are exposed to moisture and air. It attacks the metal, weakening and destroys it over the long run of time. Rusting is a form of corrosion which damages metal structures such as bridges, cars, pipes, tanks etc. It also has hazardous side effects as rusted tanks and pipes contaminates water and soil while rusted equipment & structures can break and collapse, endangering human life.

Many rust prevention products & rust paints in the market place claim to take care of the rust problem completely. They do solve the problem to a certain extent but not completely or effectively. Some car rust removals are a short term option while others have a cumbersome application processes. In such a grim scenario, Rust Bullet is a welcome relief. This amazing product can be used for car rust repair and as a rust preventive product all at the same time.

Rust Bullet car paint can be easily applied with the help of a roller, brush or even can be sprayed. Two to three light even coats of the paint are sufficient for long term protection against rust. This Rust Paint provides a tough armor coating to the car and keeps rust at bay by killing it dead. Rust Bullet has a patented technology and is better than the market leaders POR15 and Rustoleum according to the results of independent lab testing.

Rust Bullet also offers other products such as Rust Bullet Commercial, Rust Bullet Rapid Fire, and Rust Bullet BlackShell. All of these products are specially designed to take care of specific needs that arise in the battle of rust prevention. All the Rust Bullet products are safe to use and do not harm the environment since they do not contain any zinc, Lead, chromates, or heavy metals. The products are also UV resistant and guaranteed to prevent and stop rust for as long as ten years when properly applied.

Words between two people. Memories that flash into the present like lightning. It takes some living, some time, and a once in a lifetime relationship, to create the stage for this kind of song. The presentation is phenomenal and will stop the casual listener in thier tracks. If you love, or hate this song, chances are you have either had, or longed for, this kind of deperate love. Rust Treatment – Prevention is Better Than Cure

Rust calls on rust; the chemical process of rusting is a self-accelerating process. You can call it a recursive process. Let’s learn how it happens:

Rust is a result of reaction between water and iron in presence of oxygen. Rust is a series of iron oxides which is porous and larger in size. As a result, it lets water and oxygen access the deeper part of the iron and the entire metal falls prey to corrosion.

Once rusting begins, it is difficult to put a stop. Hence, the best way to protect iron products is by insulating them properly. Once rusting begins, you need to clean rust completely; if traces of rust are left, it will corrode the rest of the metal.

What is rust – chemical explanation:

Rust is hydrated iron oxide. It appears as brownish coating over the surface of iron products. Oxygen, water and iron react to form this compound.

Rusty metal is weak and fragile. Rust leaves ugly stains on the surfaces in contact. Machine parts, instruments, automobile parts and any other item made of iron are susceptible to rust.

Hope you have realized why it is more important to protect metals from rusting. Once metal products start to rust, it will not stop until the entire tool is eaten. Hence, you need to be alert from the beginning. If somehow rusting begins you need rust treatment immediately.

    How to prevent rusting:

Keep water and moisture away from your iron product and it will not rust. Iron rusts when it comes into contact with water; revoke the main chemical agent and the reaction will not take place at all.

Now, moisture and oxygen are everywhere; so how to stop them to come into contact with the metal? Let’s coat the surface of the metal with an insulating material that would not allow moisture, water and oxygen to penetrate in.

As we all know that oil and water repel each other, grease and oil can be a good insulating material for metals. Apply oil, grease, primer or any other oil-based emulsion all over the metal surface to stop rusting.

You can get many rust proof coating in market. However, the problem begins when the coating peels off. Rusting can start from a small bare metal surface. Then the entire coating gets removed easily and the iron is exposed.

Hence, even a minute hole should be resealed as early as possible. Re-sealing is done by painting rust-proof emulsion or through chemical or mechanical process.

How to choose anti-rust emulsion or solution:

The nature of the coat should be chosen keeping in mind where it is going to be used. If you are going to apply the coating on the metal parts of a food packaging machine, the emulsion should not contain anything toxic.

Rustproof emulsions that are going to be used on machineries should be non-flammable as well; otherwise you chance the risk of accidents. Top of all, the product must be environment-friendly. Look for biodegradable and natural rustproof emulsions.

    Rust Cleaning:

To clean rust from metals, use organic rust remover. You do not need to put any effort when you use spray based rust cleaners.

Remember, how laborious it is to remove rust with sandpapers! With organic rust removers you can get rid of rust without any mechanical work.

and more than ever i hope to never fall where enough is not the same it was before..come feed the rain..

    • greysonwest 4:34 am on June 6, 2010 Permalink

want to play heavy rain, but sadly i only own a 360, i’m one of the three people who have never had a problem out of my 360 but my ps3 broke right after the warranty was up. just stopped reading disc.

    • Jakjer 4:50 am on June 6, 2010 Permalink

@greysonwest Just play Heavy Rain, The combat isn’t always the same and the story is amazing.

    • raCteJ 4:59 am on June 6, 2010 Permalink

@greysonwest That’s probably what they were going for- you’d get so bored with the combat that you wouldn’t really notice it and you’d only see the storyline instead of the fighting, but eh, I guess they didn’t do it right.

    • ThisMortalCoil64 5:13 am on June 6, 2010 Permalink

      Really, really, really powerful.

    • greysonwest 5:31 am on June 6, 2010 Permalink

@triviumdan I was a little harsh on alan wake, i agree that the story was very gripping but i got so bored with repeating the exact same fight a thousand times over. by the end of it i was begging for them to stop making me point my flashlight at something and put two revolver rounds in it and let me just get the story from it, the whole reason i was playing the game. I actually would have liked it more if it had been like the X-files game for PS1. no combat just story.

@Rightn2Parabola for the rust solution. You might find it at a home renovation shop. A few years ago I found a rust making kit much like this kit in the video in there specialty department. Grant it it was for making picture frames and such look old. It might be worth a look, you never know what you might find.

Nice job. I think you might want to try something to give more of a sunbaked bleaching of the glossy enamel paint. Same thing for the glossy plastic windows. Maybe a really watered down white paint? Keep up the great work!

Rust needs to be in scale…in reality, rust is only a fraction of an inch thick, so in 1/24 scale it needs to be wicked thin, as well as everything else on the truck
